A diorama accessory from the Czech maker Hauler in 1:35 scale. The set brings workshop equipment: a bench drill, lever shears for sheet metal and the gas cylinders of an oxygen and acetylene welding outfit. It is not a model of a vehicle in its own right but resin props that give your scene credibility and a story.
Workshop machines belong in dioramas of repair units, field workshops, garages, factory halls and civilian works — from the Second World War all the way to the present day. The drill and the shears look superb by a workbench beside a part-dismantled vehicle, and the welding bottles round out a welder figure or a wreck waiting to be repaired. The set can be combined with other small accessories, tools and crates.
First wash the resin castings in warm soapy water to remove any mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or sand them away, and glue the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The machines look convincing in machine green or gray with metal scuffs picked out, a dark wash in the recesses and a fine dusting with pigments. The color coding of gas cylinders differed between countries and periods — it pays to check it against period photographs.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and figures are not included in the package.
