An accessory set of photo-etched parts for a model of the Chinese ZSL-92B wheeled infantry fighting vehicle in 1:35 scale. The metal parts replace plastic where its thickness is most visible: on the fenders and their struts, the grilles, the covers, the grab handles and the tool holders. It is not a kit of the vehicle but an addition to a plastic model.
The ZSL-92B is a later combat version of the Chinese 6x6 wheeled family, derived from the WZ551 development line. Compared with the older forms it received a new turret with more capable armament and revised external equipment, while otherwise it kept its amphibious hull and the ability to carry a squad of infantry. In modeling terms it is a vehicle that appears in European display cases only exceptionally, so a well-built example catches the eye through its subject alone.
Cut the parts out with a scalpel on a hard surface and make the bends in a bending tool, so that the edge stays straight. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue in the smallest possible amount, because an excess will flood exactly the detail you were adding. Apply a primer before painting. It pays to plan in advance what to glue on before painting and what afterwards: grilles and fine brackets are easier to paint separately on the fret and to attach only at the end. Work the dust and mud from the bottom up, because wheeled vehicles get dirty mainly in a band above the fenders.
This is an accessory set, not a kit of the vehicle. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
