An add-on set of road wheels with suggested damage, meant for kits of the German Pz.Kpfw. III medium tank of the late versions in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of the tank and not a finished model either: it is an accessory for a kit you already own. The set has a universal purpose, so it is not tied to a single kit manufacturer.
An ordinary kit offers the wheels in factory condition, so even a well-weathered model has conspicuously untouched running gear. Wheels with a torn or worn-through rubber tire, with cracks and crumbled rubber are meanwhile the first thing to suffer on a vehicle in service. The set suits wrecks and abandoned vehicles for dioramas, but also an ordinary model, where one or two damaged wheels are enough, because the contrast with the others is all the stronger.
Try the wheels on the torsion bars of the kit first, so that the ride height and the plane of the running gear can be corrected. Place the damaged wheels where the damage makes sense, on the outer rows and at the point where the model may be standing on uneven ground. Paint the rubber tires dark gray, not black; a pure black surface loses volume in scale. Suggest the exposed place left by crumbled rubber with a metallic shade and light rust, and soften the transition with a weak wash. Apply dust from pigments with a dry brush from the bottom upwards, so that the deposit follows the direction from which dust reaches the vehicle.
