Gneisenau is an injection-molded plastic waterline kit of the German Second World War battlecruiser in 1:700 scale from Tamiya.
Responsibility details are not available.
The kit captures the German battlecruiser Gneisenau of the Second World War. It is an injection-molded plastic model in 1:700 scale done as a waterline build from the Japanese brand Tamiya. The kit holds detailed superstructures, gun turrets, a shipboard catapult aircraft and decals.
Together with her sister ship Scharnhorst, Gneisenau made up a pair of fast German battlecruisers. These ships took part in a number of operations against Allied shipping and in clashes with the Royal Navy, and they are famous above all for the daring dash through the English Channel. Gneisenau differed from her sister ship among other things in the position of the mast behind the funnel.
A waterline model shows the hull down to the waterline and suits display cases and sea-surface dioramas alike. Set the small parts of the superstructures, the masts and the barrels carefully with liquid cement. An airbrush suits the period German naval schemes; bring the deck and the superstructures alive with a light wash and accented detail.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
