An accessory set of cast jerrycans in 1:35 scale. The word dented in the name means that the castings are not smooth: they have dents, knocks and deformations molded in, of the kind that arise in ordinary handling in the field. It is not a kit of a vehicle — the cans are added to a model, to crew equipment or into a diorama scene.

Why battered cans

Jerrycans are among the most frequently added accessories of all, and that is exactly why their perfection is conspicuous. A set of pieces from one mold, all the same and without a single scratch, looks artificial in a diorama. Deformed castings break up that regularity: every piece looks different, worn paint can be told apart on the edges and dust can catch in the hollows. You will use them equally well strapped to the brackets of a vehicle, scattered on the bed of a truck or lying on the ground at a supply point.

Usage and painting tips

• Wash the castings in warm water with detergent before gluing — that takes off the remains of production, which paint does not hold on.
• Cut the casting remnants off with a cutter or a saw and even the edges up with a fine abrasive.
• Paint the cans separately off the model, on a skewer or a wire — access to every surface is then far easier.
• Bring the dents out with a wash and a dry brush; that is where the whole point of the set lies.
• Suggest worn paint on the edges and around the handles, that is where a can is taken hold of.

For diorama builders and modelers of military vehicles in 1:35 who fill a scene out with small equipment. The work is undemanding and even a less experienced modeler can manage it.
