The set holds three castings of 200 liter drums. It is not a vehicle model but a diorama accessory of the kind that suits practically any scene with equipment. Drums of this type were and still are used for fuel, oils and service fluids, so you will find them by workshops, refueling points and depots, and loaded on vehicles.
The castings have the circumferential rolling hoops of the body engraved and the lids with their bungs suggested, that is the features that make a drum recognizable at a glance. Three pieces in the box are enough for a small corner of a scene, and on larger dioramas the sets can be combined and the drums stood in groups, laid on their sides or stacked in a pyramid.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water and remove the casting blocks with a saw; level the bottom face on sanding paper laid on a flat board so that the drum stands upright. Apply a primer before painting. Drums reward weathering, because they get scuffed and rusty in service: add patches of rust to the base color, a dark wash into the hoops and a dry brush on the edges. The salt or hairspray chipping technique works well too. If you are laying a drum on its side, think it through while painting so that the traces of wear match the position.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
