Responsibility details are not available.
A metal sheet with an engraved non-slip pattern designated as the modern A type, worked out in 1:35 scale. The product is not a kit but a material for detailing. A modeler cuts parts of any shape out of the sheet and glues them to the places where walking plate is meant to be.
Contemporary military and commercial equipment uses non-slip surfaces on fenders, steps, platforms, beds and service walkways. Kits usually only hint at these surfaces, or deal with them by means of a texture that disappears once painted. A sheet with a sharply engraved pattern gives a surface a relief that reads clearly, and at the same time it is so thin that it does not change the outline of the part. It also suits settings away from models of equipment, for example platforms, staircases and floors in modern dioramas.
Cut the sheet with a sharp knife along a metal ruler or with photo-etch shears, and level the edges with a fine file. Sand the base flat, so that the sheet sits down with no gaps. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue or epoxy, as ordinary cement for plastic does not hold. Degrease the metal and spray it with a base coat. On modern equipment a matte shade looks good, with the tops picked out selectively with a dry brush and a fine dark wash. Worn patches can be suggested by lightly sanding the places that take the most use.
This is a detailing accessory, not a model in its own right. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
