This is not a vehicle model but a detail accessory - an accurately turned metal gun barrel from the manufacturer Aber. The set contains the turned barrel body, a multi-part muzzle brake and small photo-etched parts, and it replaces the plastic barrel with a perfectly straight metal part with the correct geometry. Intended for models of the German Wespe (Sd.Kfz.124) self-propelled howitzer in 1:35 scale.
The Wespe was a light self-propelled howitzer on the Panzer II chassis, armed with the 105 mm leFH 18 howitzer. The characteristic barrel with its muzzle brake is a prominent feature of the vehicle; a metal replacement removes the molding seams and the bowing of plastic and allows the multi-part brake to be rendered faithfully.
Degrease the metal barrel and bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or a two-part glue; ordinary plastic cement will not hold on metal. Bend the photo-etched parts over an edge. Before painting, apply a primer suitable for metal for adhesion. Pick out the muzzle and the bore with a dark shade and smoky weathering.
It is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
