This is a photo-etched metal detail set from the Polish manufacturer Aber in 1:35 scale, not a tank model. The add-on set (vol. 2) brings thin photo-etched fenders for the Pz.Kpfw.VI (P) heavy tank. It replaces the thicker plastic parts from the box with a truer scale profile and follows on from the basic set of the range.
The Pz.Kpfw.VI (P) was the Porsche version of the Tiger heavy tank, the VK 4501 P, with an 88 mm gun. The fenders protected the running gear and the upper parts of the hull from dirt; on period vehicles they were often damaged or partly removed, which leaves room for a faithful rendering.
Separate the photo-etched fenders with a sharp knife and bend them on a bending tool or along a ruler. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); degrease the metal and spray it with a coat of primer before painting. Slightly bent or damaged fenders with a wash and pigments look convincing.
This is a detail accessory, not a tank model. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
