German license plates with frames 1:35 - Wehrmacht from the manufacturer Elefant is a decal accessory for models of ground military equipment. The plates are printed complete with the frame and are applied straight onto a finished model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet intended for modelers who build German ground equipment of the Second World War in 1:35 scale. It is not a model and not a kit - it is the last step that turns an anonymous vehicle into a specific example with an identity of its own. The Wehrmacht variant concerns vehicles of the ground forces, which used a different opening registration abbreviation from Luftwaffe or navy equipment; for the ground forces it was the designation WH.
On most types the plates were fitted to the front and the rear of a vehicle - on trucks to the bumper or the fender, on armored vehicles often to the front plate or to the rear wall of the hull. Before you apply the decal, go through period documentation for your type: the placement differed according to the maker of the chassis and according to field modifications, and it is exactly this detail that makes the difference between a convincing and a haphazard-looking model. On some vehicles the plate was mounted on a bracket standing off the body; there a decal alone is not enough and a backing of thin plastic or photo-etch is needed.
Apply onto gloss varnish, cut the decal as tightly as possible and use a softener wherever the surface is not perfectly flat. Give it a matte coat once dry. The plate used to be one of the dirtiest parts of a vehicle - a dark wash into the edges of the frame, dust applied dry from the lower edge and a few chips in a light color will give the plate credibility within minutes.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
