A plastic kit, Tamiya German Pioneer and Goliath Set, in 1:35 scale: German combat engineers and miniature remote-controlled tracked Goliath vehicles.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic set from Tamiya combining figures of a German engineer (assault) squad with a pair of miniature remote-controlled tracked Goliath vehicles. In the package you will find the parts for three figures of engineers in realistic poses and for two Goliath vehicles, together with plenty of accessories of weapons and equipment. It is a combined figure and vehicle set, ideal as an addition to a diorama.
The Goliath (Leichter Ladungstrager) was a small German remote-controlled demolition charge carrier of the Second World War, controlled by a cable. Loaded with explosive, it was to drive under a tank, into a bunker or up to an obstacle and be detonated. Engineers operated it from cover using a control unit at the end of the cable. It was also nicknamed the beetle tank, and it was deployed from 1942 onward.
The small vehicles and the figures alike reward careful work with a brush: paint the basic surfaces first, then shade with a wash and pick the edges out with a dry brush. A fine wire is usually enclosed for the Goliath's control cable. On the figures, pay attention to the faces and the insignia; the set also contains rifles, a submachine gun, binoculars and other equipment.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
