An injection-molded plastic kit of the German self-propelled howitzer M109G of 155 mm caliber in 1:35 scale from the maker AFV Club. It is the German (Bundeswehr) version of the well-known tracked self-propelled gun M109. The set holds a turned barrel and rubber tracks and is built as an unassembled kit.
The M109 is an American tracked self-propelled gun that spread into the armament of a number of armies. The German version M109G came about by alterations for the needs of the Bundeswehr - it was given a howitzer of 155 mm caliber with a shorter barrel (L/23), a German muzzle brake and different equipment. For decades the vehicle formed the backbone of the artillery fire support of the West German army, and it stands out for its traversing turret with a powerful howitzer.
First assemble and paint the running gear and the lower hull; the rubber tracks are comfortable to fit. The turned barrel guarantees a perfectly straight bore. For a faithful look use a primer, an airbrush and a matching Bundeswehr camouflage, washes into the details and pigments for dust; the hatches can be fitted open and the scene completed with accompanying equipment.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
