A set of ten German jerrycans of the 1939 pattern in the closed version, 1:35 scale. An accessory to vehicle models and dioramas.
Responsibility details are not available.
The German standard jerrycan adopted at the end of the 1930s is among the best known pieces of equipment of the Second World War. It held twenty liters, on the top it had three handles, so that one man or two could carry it, and in the sides a pronounced pressed cross-shaped stiffening. In service it proved itself so well that its shape is still used by cans all over the world today. On models it appears on the fenders, the rears and the cargo spaces of practically every vehicle.
The set holds ten jerrycans in 1:35 scale, in the version marked ABP and with the closure shut, that is with no pouring tube fitted. The same line also offers the same cans with the closure open or with a pouring tube, so you can choose according to the scene you are building. The set is an accessory, not a model of a vehicle.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder back, so that the pressed stiffening stays sharp. Small parts are held reliably by super glue applied in a tiny amount. Before painting, wash the cans, degrease them and paint them with a primer. They were painted in the shades of the vehicles they belonged to, and it is precisely with jerrycans that it pays to vary the shades slightly, so that ten identical pieces side by side do not look uniform.
The set suits the fitting out of vehicle models as well as dioramas and display cases. Unless stated otherwise, paints, glue and other fittings are not included in the package.
