A 3-ton jack for German Second World War vehicles in 1:35 scale is a detail accessory from AMMO of Mig Jimenez, intended to finish off a model already under construction, not a kit in its own right.
Responsibility details are not available.
This 1:35 accessory represents a mechanical jack of the medium-light class, of the kind carried as part of the tool stowage on German vehicles. There is no vehicle in the package — it is a single detail added to a model built from another kit.
In injection-molded kits, jacks tend to be molded in two halves with a parting line running the whole length of the body, often with a lug by which they are molded onto the fender as well. A separate accessory removes that compromise: it has sharper edges, a legible toothed rack and needs no laborious sanding of a seam in a place where you could not work properly anyway. The difference is best seen up close and in photographs of a finished model.
Cut the original molded part away together with its lug and level the surface of the fender flat — only then will the new jack seat without a gap. Wash the resin casting first so that no mold release agent is left on it to stop the paint holding. Use a thicker cyanoacrylate glue, which gives you a few seconds to fine-tune the position. There are two ways to paint it: either the whole part in the color of the vehicle and then darken the metal parts, or the other way round, dark metal first and over it a thin layer of covering color that can be rubbed through in places.
The accessory is supplied unpainted, without glue and without paints, unless stated otherwise.
