This is a photo-etched metal detail set, not a tank model. The set from Aber holds fine ice cleats, which on the real vehicle were bolted onto the track links for better grip in winter and on icy ground. The set is intended for the Soviet T-34/76 and the late versions of the T-34/85.
Ice cleats were practical field additions to Soviet armor. They were fitted to selected track links so that the tank would not slip on snow and ice. It is a small but telling detail that brings winter dioramas and scenes from the Eastern Front to life.
Cut the small parts out, bend them if needed and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue onto the track links. Work with tweezers and in good light, because the pieces are very small. Degrease the metal and give it a coat of primer before painting; traces of rust and mud suit them well.
