The model captures this small cross-country vehicle with four-wheel drive in the version armed with a machine gun. It offers a faithful interior and chassis for a small utility vehicle.
The Type 73 is a light cross-country car whose design comes out of the license-built Jeep. It served with the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force from the 1970s and was built in a range of variants. It was powered by a four-cylinder diesel engine and had four-wheel drive; the version with a machine gun places it among the lightly armed reconnaissance and liaison vehicles.
On a small vehicle it pays to assemble and paint the interior and the chassis carefully. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic, treat the surface with a primer and lay the colors on with an airbrush. Washes and pigments on the chassis, the tires and the lower body round out the look.
