It is not a model of a vehicle, but a scenic accessory that is assembled from laser cut wooden strips and square sections. A pallet is precisely one of those elements that can place a scene instantly in the setting of a storehouse, a transshipment yard or a supply hub.
A Euro pallet is a standardized wooden pallet with a footprint of 1200 by 800 millimeters, that is roughly 34 by 23 millimeters in 1:35 scale. Its present form settled down in modern logistics, which is why it suits above all contemporary and postwar scenes, trucks, storehouses and materials handling equipment. In scenes from the first half of the twentieth century it is out of place, as cargo was stowed differently there.
The pallets are made up of a larger number of small parts, so prepare a flat surface and work through the order of the layers; a finished pallet will then not be warped. They are glued with PVA wood glue or with thin cyanoacrylate glue applied drop by drop. Wood is absorbent, so paint with heavily thinned acrylics or with oil paints and let the grain show through. Real pallets tend to be scuffed on their edges, dirty on the lower sections and often cracked, which can be suggested with a dry brush, a wash and pigments. It is a good idea to stack several pallets on top of one another and to lean one of them upright.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
