The set contains photo-etched parts for detailing the interior of the LVT-4 amphibious tracked carrier in 1:35 scale. It is an aftermarket detail set from Eduard, not a kit in its own right. The photo-etch sharpens the internal fittings of the cargo compartment, the bulkheads, brackets, seats and small details that are only suggested in plastic.
The LVT-4 (Landing Vehicle Tracked) is an American amphibious tracked carrier of the Second World War, used in large numbers in the landings in the Pacific. The folding ramp at the rear made it easier to unload troops and cargo from the roomy interior. The set suits a build of a model with the interior left open.
Fit the interior photo-etch before closing up the hull, while the surfaces are easy to reach. Separate the parts with a sharp knife, form the bends with a photo-etch bending tool and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The inside comes out well with edges brought up dry and a light wash, so that the texture of the fittings stands out.
This is a photo-etched detail set for the interior, not a kit of the vehicle. The base plastic model, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
