Eduard 1:35 M-1A1 Bustle Rack Extension is a photo-etched detail set for enlarging the rear stowage basket on the turret of a model of the American M1A1 Abrams tank. It is not a model but an accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched brass set from the Czech maker Eduard serves to detail and widen the rear stowage basket (the bustle rack) on the turret of a model of the American M1A1 Abrams main battle tank in 1:35 scale. It is not a stand-alone kit of the tank but a precisely shaped accessory, which replaces and completes the plastic parts of the base kit with more faithful thin-walled photo-etched features.
The crews of Abrams tanks carried a bulky load on the rear of the turret, so the basket for equipment was often widened in the field with improvised extensions. This set makes it possible to build such an enlargement of the basket from fine photo-etched mesh, which plastic cannot imitate in a realistic thickness. The result is a believable stowage cage that can be filled with the crew's equipment and personal belongings.
The photo-etched parts are separated from the fret with a sharp knife on a surface, bent on a bending tool or with the help of a ruler and glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate), or else with two-part epoxy. Before gluing and before painting it is advisable to degrease the surface and lay down a base coat of primer for good adhesion of the paint.
This is a photo-etched detail accessory, not a stand-alone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
