This resin set from DEF Model completes a model of the American M1151 HMMWV (Humvee) armored vehicle with realistic stowage and a set of off-road tires with a coarse tread (MT, mud terrain), in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit in its own right but an accessory that raises the fidelity and the level of detail of the base model; it contains five tires including the spare and a range of small stowage items. The target kit is Academy.
The HMMWV, colloquially the Humvee, is an American multipurpose wheeled vehicle used in many variants. The M1151 is the armored version with a weapon station; in the field it tends to be loaded with gear, crates, packs and other stowage, which brings a model to life. Off-road tires with a coarse tread are typical of service in demanding terrain.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent residue, cut the casting blocks off and clean them up. Glue with cyanoacrylate. Paint the stowage separately and arrange it into natural-looking groups; pick the tires out suitably with dust and mud using pigments. Varied weathering of the individual objects raises the realism considerably.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
