An injection-molded plastic kit of the Israeli main battle tank Merkava Mk.1 from Takom in 1:35 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; besides the plastic parts the box also holds photo-etched parts. It is a faithful rendering of the first-generation tank with its characteristic front-mounted engine.
The Merkava is an Israeli main battle tank developed with the emphasis on protecting the crew. The engine is unusually placed at the front, where it forms an additional barrier shielding the crew compartment, and at the rear there is a hatch that allows both entry and evacuation. The first generation, the Mk.1, entered service at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s and was used in the fighting in the Middle East. Its main armament was a 105 mm gun.
First finish the running gear and the lower hull, and only then close up the hull. The model suits spraying with an airbrush followed by accenting of the panels and of mud and dust effects with washes and pigments. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
