Aber 1:35 photo-etched detail set - Thoma Schild mesh screens for the T-34/85 is a photo-etched metal accessory with side protective mesh screens for the T-34/85 tank.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a photo-etched metal detail set, not a kit for the whole vehicle. The set holds Thoma Schild side protective mesh screens and their hangers for the T-34/85 tank. These wire screens, the counterpart of the German side screens against shaped charges and anti-tank rifles, were fitted to captured and modified vehicles. The set serves as an add-on for a model in 1:35 scale.
The T-34/85 was a Soviet medium tank of the Second World War with a turret carrying an 85 mm gun. The Thoma Schild mesh screens were light wire shields hung along the sides of the hull, meant to set off shaped charges early and improve the protection of the thin side armor. Photo-etched metal faithfully captures the fine structure of the mesh, which plastic cannot imitate.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a glass surface and form the screen frames on a photo-etch bending tool so that the mesh stays flat. To bond metal to plastic, use cyanoacrylate or epoxy glue. Apply a metal primer before painting; the fine mesh comes out nicely once rust and dust are added with washes and pigments.
This is a detail set, not a vehicle model. The base kit, glue, paints and other parts are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
