Modern tank crew of the South Korean army: three resin figures 1:35 from DEF Model, with uniforms of the years 1990 to 2010, optional heads and photo-etched microphones.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of three resin figures of a tank crew in 1:35 scale, intended for the turrets of modern South Korean tanks. The figures are sculpted in poses typical of a crew leaning out of the hatches: the commander, the gunner and the loader. Besides the castings, the package contains a small photo-etched sheet with throat microphones and headsets, that is with parts that will never come out thin enough in resin, and two variants of the head are included for the loader, so the scene can be varied. The masters were created by digital sculpting and printing. It is made by the Korean company DEF Model.
The uniforms match the equipment of the ground forces of the Republic of Korea in the period from roughly 1990 to 2010, that is woodland camouflage in a four-color pattern, tanker overalls and helmets with a headset. This was the period in which the South Korean army was introducing home-designed tanks and at the same time operating older American equipment, so the crew can credibly be used on a wider range of vehicles than just one type.
Wash the parts in warm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and wet-sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue both the resin and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue, and anneal the photo-etched part before bending it. Always try the figures in the hatch dry while they are not yet glued, because the shoulders and the back often have to be sanded back. Apply a primer. Paint multicolor camouflage with a brush from the lightest area to the darkest, and the flesh in layers with shading in the folds. At the end, unify the figure with a light wash and dust pigment so that it matches the weathering of the vehicle.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
