A set of NbK Wrf 39 smoke grenade dischargers for a model of the Panther tank in 1:35 scale. A replacement for the simplified parts from a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Smoke grenade dischargers fired cartridges that created a screen around the vehicle. Under it the crew could break off the action, change position or tow a damaged machine away. They were small tubes mounted on the turret, on the subject along its sides. On a model they are clearly visible, because they stand free above the outline of the turret and nothing covers them.
It is precisely free-standing small things that carry the most simplification on a plastic part: the tube tends to be thicker, the muzzle closed and the bracket merges into the body. A replacement part brings thinner walls and sharper edges, that is exactly what shows at first glance on a finished model.
The parts are not polystyrene, so they are joined with superglue; cement for plastic kits does not hold on them. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that the thin tube does not break off. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts and use a primer, otherwise the finish rubs off the smooth surface. For the placing on the turret and for the order of assembly, follow the manufacturer's instructions and the kit part you are replacing. Glue the dischargers on after the turret has been painted, where the procedure allows it, because working around them with a brush or an airbrush is awkward.
A set of parts is supplied. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
