The French helmet M15 in the detailed form, 1:48 scale is an accessory for figures – the second variant of the same French helmet of the 1915 pattern.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory for figures, not a kit. The French helmet of the 1915 pattern is made in two forms and this is the variant designated as detailed. Check the difference from the basic form on the packaging. The helmet is fitted onto a figure's head or used as a set-aside item of equipment in a scene.
The French steel helmet introduced in 1915 was one of the first series-produced helmets of modern armies. Characteristic of it are the low crest over the crown and the riveted brim led around the whole circumference. It was worn throughout the First World War, in modified forms it survived between the wars and other armies took it over as well. The helmet therefore suits figures from a wider period, not only trench scenes.
Cut the part off the casting block with a fine-toothed saw, level the surface and sand it over gently. Washing in lukewarm water with a detergent before painting is essential with small castings – the release agent from the mold otherwise repels paint. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). A more detailed casting deserves more sensitive painting: a thin filler, a matte base, a wash flowed into the shadows and a fine lightening of the edges with a dry brush. Thin the paint and apply it in several thin layers, so that the rivets and the edge of the brim do not get flooded.
This is an accessory for figures, not a kit on its own. Paints, glue and the figure are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
