A brass photo-etched basic detail set in 1:35 scale from Voyager Model. The set is meant for the Chinese Type 62 light tank and serves to refine and raise the detail of the Trumpeter 05537 kit. It is not a kit of the vehicle but an accessory, a detail set that replaces or adds to selected plastic parts with fine photo-etched items. It holds fenders, grilles, tie-down loops, lifting eyes and other fine sheet parts.
The Type 62 is a Chinese light tank, a lightened and scaled-down counterpart of the Type 59 medium tank. It was designed for use in mountainous and broken terrain, where heavier tanks lost their mobility. It carried a smaller-caliber gun and became a widespread machine in Asian armies.
Carefully separate the photo-etched parts from the fret with a sharp knife on a hard surface and clean up the edges. Use a photo-etch bending tool or a metal ruler for the bends, so as to get sharp, straight edges. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue, remove the excess and degrease the joints before spraying. It is best to spray the brass with a primer for better adhesion of the coats that follow.
The photo-etched accessory calls for the Trumpeter 05537 kit in 1:35 scale, which is not included in the package. Glue, paints and the model itself are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
