The set from the Czech maker CMK is not a standalone kit but a detail accessory: precisely cast resin wheels meant to replace the plastic parts on Messerschmitt Bf 109E fighter models in 1:48 scale. Resin castings offer a finer tire tread and crisper hub detail than injection-molded parts usually give.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109E, nicknamed the Emil, was the variant of the legendary German fighter deployed above all in the early part of the Second World War. The narrow track of the main landing gear was one of its typical features, so faithfully rendered wheels noticeably improve the look of the finished model.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release agent. Cut off the casting blocks, clean up the surfaces and protect your airways when sanding resin. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the tires matte dark gray and the hubs according to period photographs.
The set contains only the resin wheel parts; it is not a standalone model and holds no glue or paints. A matching base plastic kit is needed to use it.
