The package contains 96 small resin plugs for further detailing of the running gear of the American M46, M47, M48 and M60 series tanks in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory that improves areas which are clearly visible from the side and from below once a model is finished.
A quantity of parts like this is not done one at a time at random but in batches. The proven approach is to prepare ten to fifteen pieces at once, cut them off, clean them up and only then move on to gluing, so that your hand keeps the same rhythm and all the plugs sit at the same depth. A pad of modeling putty, into which you push the parts face up, also helps, as does a magnetic or at least a deep dish from which a small casting cannot jump out. With a repeated detail, evenness matters more than the absolute accuracy of a single piece, because the eye takes in the whole row at once.
Before gluing, pre-drill the holes with a micro drill so that the plug drops in without pressure; resin tears when forced in. Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin, with the gel version giving a few seconds more to true up the position. Deal with the painting only after gluing and after spraying the primer, otherwise the shade of the plugs and of their surroundings will never match. At the end it pays to add dust pigment or mud around the drive sprockets, because that is where dirt builds up most on real vehicles.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without the base kit. Glue, paints and tools are not included in the package.
