The set contains photo-etched parts for detailing the German Panzer IV Ausf.H medium tank in 1:35 scale. It is an aftermarket detail set from Eduard, not a kit in its own right. The photo-etch faithfully replaces simplified plastic elements such as the grilles over the engine, tool brackets, tie-down fittings, fenders and details of the Schürzen side skirts.
The Panzer IV was the most widely used German medium tank of the Second World War and the only one that stayed in production throughout the conflict. The Ausf.H version was among the most numerous and carried a long 75 mm gun and the Schürzen side armor skirts, which protected the sides against anti-tank projectiles. The set suits a build of this version.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp knife and form the bends with a photo-etch bending tool. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). With tracked vehicles, assemble and paint the running gear before closing up the hull, and weather with a wash and pigments for dust and mud effects. The thin photo-etched fenders can be faithfully bent and damaged following period photographs.
