This photo-etched detail set in 1:35 scale from the Polish brand Aber is not a standalone model but an accessory for raising the detail of the Soviet IS-3 heavy tank, nicknamed Stalin. It adds fine metal elements that injection-molded plastic cannot capture faithfully.
The IS-3 was a Soviet heavy tank of the close of the Second World War, striking for the wedge-shaped front of its hull, known as the pike nose, and for a low hemispherical turret with a 122 mm gun. The nickname Stalin comes from the Russian designation of the IS line (Iosif Stalin). It barely took part in the fighting of the Second World War, but it strongly influenced postwar tank design.
Separate the parts carefully with a sharp blade, form the bends under a rule or on a bending tool and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Spray the fine photo-etched elements with a primer; the detail will come out with a wash in the recesses and a light dusting of pigments.
