A photo-etched add-on set from the AFV Club brand in 1:35 scale for the late version of the German three-ton half-track tractor Sd.Kfz. 11. The package holds fine metal grills, hatches and small details that will replace the simplified plastic parts from the kit and give the model scale-thin, realistic surfaces. It is not a vehicle model, but a refining addition for more experienced modelers.
The Sd.Kfz. 11 was a German medium half-track tractor of around three tons load, widely committed during the Second World War above all as an artillery tractor and as a carrier for a number of derived conversions. Its front and engine grills and its small sheet-metal items are a rewarding place for photo-etched parts, because the real vehicle had these areas markedly finer than injection-molded plastic can capture.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a surface and clean up the edges. Make the bends over a bender or a metal ruler. Glue the metal with super glue (cyanoacrylate), or spot-solder it. Apply a primer before painting, so that the paint holds well on the smooth metal.
This is a photo-etched addition, not a vehicle model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
