A set of turned metal barrels in 1:35 scale from the Polish maker Aber for a model of the Soviet T-50 light tank. The box holds one barrel for the 45 mm 20K gun and two barrels for the 7.62 mm DT machine gun. This is a detail accessory for a plastic kit, not a model of the vehicle. On small machine gun barrels metal brings the greatest gain, because plastic parts at this size tend to be thick and without a hollow muzzle.
The T-50 was a Soviet light tank designed as a modern replacement for the older light types. It was to have good mobility, torsion bar suspension and armor matching its category. It was armed with a 45 mm gun and 7.62 mm machine guns. It never went into large-scale production, however, because in the first years of the war it made more sense to concentrate capacity on medium tanks. Only a small number of vehicles were built, which makes the T-50 a rewarding subject for collectors of less common vehicles.
Cut off the plastic gun barrel and the machine gun barrels and open the holes out carefully, working up through smaller drill diameters on the small parts. Degrease the metal and glue it with cyanoacrylate glue, wiping away any excess at once. Apply a primer for metals to the metal parts. Leave the machine gun barrels matte and darker than the hull; the gun barrel suits a fine wash where it enters the mantlet.
This is a detail set, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
