An additional photo-etched set of side stowage boxes for the Soviet T-55A medium tank in 1:35 scale. It is not a model but a metal detail accessory for models of the Soviet T-55A medium tank. The set is conceived as an extension (part 3), so it follows on from the basic photo-etched sets and adds the specific stowage boxes for the sides of the hull.
The T-55A carried a number of stowage and tool boxes on its fenders and hull sides, which differed in pattern and placement. From thin photo-etched sheet you build boxes with realistic wall thickness and faithful hinges and handles, which a solid plastic molding cannot give you.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and fold the boxes up over a ruler or a photo-etch bending tool; fix the edges with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Treat the metal with a primer before painting. Washes and pigments work well for weathering and for bringing out the detail.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
