A photo-etched set for the Soviet BT-5 tank in 1:35 scale from the Polish maker Aber: metal parts for detailing a model. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched metal set in 1:35 scale for a model of the Soviet BT-5 fast tank. This is not a kit but a set of thin metal parts with which the parts that never come out fine enough in plastic are replaced on a finished model: grilles, brackets, grab handles and thin sheet metal. Aber is a Polish maker that has specialized in photo-etched and turned parts for a long time.
The BT-5 was a Soviet fast tank of the thirties, built on a chassis derived from an American design with large road wheels and independent suspension. It could run on its tracks and, once the tracks were taken off, on its wheels, which gave it a remarkable speed on the road. It carried a gun of forty-five millimeters caliber and fought in Spain, at Khalkhin Gol and in the first months after the attack on the Soviet Union.
Cut photo-etched sheet on a hard surface with sharp etch scissors or a scalpel, and never break a part out. Make the bends in a bending tool or at least between two blades, so that the edge is sharp and in the right place. Degrease the parts with alcohol, glue them with super glue, that is with cyanoacrylate, and apply primer to the metal, otherwise the paint will not hold. The procedure is always that the plastic part is sanded away first and only then replaced with the etched one.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
