Eduard 1:35 StuG.IV late production — photo-etched set

A photo-etched set from Eduard in 1:35 scale intended for detailing a model of the German Sturmgeschütz IV assault gun in the late production version. The metal parts replace simplified plastic sections and add grilles, fenders, brackets and other small items. It is not a model but an accessory for a kit.

The real subject

The Sturmgeschütz IV came about by combining the proven assault gun superstructure with the chassis of the Panzer IV tank. It was armed with a 75 mm gun and served both to support infantry and to destroy tanks. The late production batch from the end of the war carried simplified elements and characteristic changes to the superstructure.

Use and building tips

Separate the parts on a cutting surface, form the bends with a bending tool or rulers, and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal surfaces and apply a primer before painting. Finish the interior and the running gear before closing up the hull; build up the weathering with washes and pigments.
