A sheet of self-adhesive masks cut to the shape of the road wheels of the Swedish infantry fighting vehicle. The set is neither a kit nor a set of parts — it separates the rubber tire band from the rim while spraying, so that the border between them comes out sharp and the same on every wheel. The cut matches the wheels from the kit by Hobby Boss.
A masking set makes sense on vehicles with an extensive running gear, for modelers who paint with an airbrush, and anywhere the result has to stand up to a close look. There are cases, though, where it is unnecessary. If you plan to take the vehicle to a state where the running gear is entirely under a deposit of mud and practically nothing of the tire bands is left visible, the work saved will not come back. The same goes for building wheels from a kit other than the one the mask is cut for — almost anything can be laid on, but a difference in diameter shows up in the result at once. And finally: anyone who works exclusively with a brush and does not mind lining tire bands by hand is mainly adding a step with a mask. In every other case it is the simplest way to have a running gear finished quickly and uniformly.
