TIGER46 — painting masks for a striped pattern 1:35 (Solid Scale)

A set of painting masks from the German manufacturer Solid Scale for spraying an irregular striped pattern, which the manufacturer describes as tiger-like. It is not a kit and not decals, but an accessory for painting a model. The masks are made of a low-tack film and the manufacturer expressly lists them as reusable, so they will last for several models. The spacing of the stripes matches 1:35 scale.

Use

• Spray the lighter base shade first and let it dry thoroughly.
• Lay the masks out so that the stripes carry smoothly over the edges, the superstructures and the projections.
• Press the edges down along their whole length, and on long lines work from the middle toward the ends.
• Spray the darker shade at a right angle and in thin coats; a heavy application bleeds under.
• Take the film off shortly after it has dried and return it to its backing for further use.

Who the set is for

For modelers who want a striped pattern with sharp transitions and do not want to cut it laboriously out of masking tape. It also suits those who spray freehand but need even spacing of the stripes along the whole length of the model. Thanks to the repeated use it pays off when building a series of models as well.

Let the base coat really cure before masking. On fresh paint the film can lift the surface even at low tack, especially with acrylics applied in a heavier coat.

Paints and glue are not included in the package. The model the pattern is applied to is sold separately.
