The 1:35 Type 1/2/3/4/97 Medium Tanks wheel masking set is a sheet of pre-cut templates for separating the rubber tires from the disks of the road wheels. The set is cut for the kits from the manufacturer Fine Molds.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for painting, not a kit. The templates set the boundary between the rubber tire and the disk of a road wheel. The set is cut for the models of the Japanese medium tanks of the Type 1, Type 2, Type 3, Type 4 and Type 97 line from the manufacturer Fine Molds, which share a related running gear.
The types mentioned form a developmentally connected line of Japanese medium tanks of the period of the Second World War, built on a common design basis. Exactly for that reason the wheels of several types can be covered with one sheet of templates, as their road wheels have identical dimensions.
Rubber on a model should almost never be black and glossy. The real rubber of road wheels is rather dark gray to gray-brown and after use entirely matte, because sand and dust abrade it. Reach, therefore, for a matte shade from the family of dark grays, or else for black lightened with gray. Pure black optically flattens the area and the fine detail of the tire disappears in it. Gloss is suitable only exceptionally, for example on a part that is to represent a freshly mounted tire. If you are preparing the model for decals and plan a gloss intermediate coat, spray and mask the wheels before you apply the coat, otherwise you would have to flatten them separately.
The package holds only the masking templates. The kit, paints and thinners are not included in it. Before purchase verify that you are building exactly the kit mentioned.
