Beaufighter Mk.21 – Hedgehog Flame Damper Exhausts, Aussie type 1:72 is a resin set of exhausts with flame dampers from CMK. It is not a model of the aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not a kit of the aircraft, but a detail accessory. These are resin exhaust pipes with flame dampers of the so-called hedgehog type for a model of the twin-engine Beaufighter in the Mk.21 version in 1:72 scale from CMK. The name specifies that it is the Australian form, that is a shape matching the machines built in Australia. The number of parts and the make-up of the set are given on the manufacturer's packaging.
Radial engines belch clearly visible flames from their exhaust stubs as they run. In the dark that gives the crew away and at the same time dazzles the pilot, which worsens his vision on night flights. Flame dampers spread and cool the exhaust gases into several smaller pipes arranged in a bundle, hence the popular name hedgehog. The Mk.21 version was the Australian production variant of the Beaufighter with its own differences, among them the form of the exhaust systems.
For modelers with experience of resin who are building the Beaufighter in its Australian form and want faithful exhausts. Make sure beforehand that it matches the kit you are building.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and unassembled. Paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
