A set of brass rounds for the American 75 mm tank gun in 1:35 scale from AFV Club - an accessory for a model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of turned brass rounds for the American 75 mm tank gun in 1:35 scale, manufacturer's part number AG35033. It is not a model of a vehicle but an accessory: the rounds go into the ammunition stowage in the fighting compartment, stack into crates at a firing position, or are laid out in a scene of ammunition being brought up. Brass gives the cartridge case a metallic sheen that is hard to imitate with paint. The manufacturer intends the set for vehicles armed with this gun, that is for the Lee and Grant types, for the Sherman and for the Churchill Mk.IV.
The American 75 mm gun was the main armament of American medium tanks through most of the Second World War, and through deliveries to the Allies it found its way into British vehicles as well. It fired fixed ammunition with a brass cartridge case: a high-explosive shell against soft targets and an armor-piercing shell against armored vehicles. Versatility was its strong point - against heavy armor it fell behind later guns, but in infantry support fire it held its own.
Degrease the metal parts and spray them with a primer, otherwise paint will not hold on brass. You can leave the cartridge case in its metal shade and merely knock it back with a clear coat, and pick out the shell head in olive or black with fine white lettering. Finish with a light wash so that the seat of the base and the rim of the case stand out. For stowing in a crate it pays to glue the rounds in pairs, as they then hold the row.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
