Tetra Model Works 1:35 U.S. M2 Cal.50 Ammo Box (Colored etching Parts) is a variant of the photo-etched set of American ammunition boxes of 12.7 mm caliber with color-printed parts. It is an accessory for a finished kit, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The colored version of the photo-etched set of American ammunition boxes for the machine gun of 12.7 mm caliber in 1:35 scale. The difference from the basic variant lies in the surface of the photo-etch: the parts are printed with color by the maker, including the lettering and the markings, so priming and the hand painting of tiny captions fall away. It is an accessory that you add to a built vehicle model, to a mount or to a diorama, not a kit of equipment.
The M2 box is a sheet-metal container with a hinged lid and a folding handle, in which the ammunition belt was carried to the heavy machine gun of 12.7 mm caliber. In reality the boxes were olive green with a white or yellow caption of the contents and the kind of ammunition - and it is precisely that caption that is hard to manage by hand on a model in 1:35. Colored photo-etch gets around this work.
Handle the printed parts more carefully than bare brass: the paint cracks on a sharp bend, so bend slowly, in a bender and preferably over a larger radius. Apply cyanoacrylate glue in a small amount with the tip of a wire; a drop that overflows onto the print leaves a glossy mark. The assembled box only needs unifying with a light spray of matte varnish, a dark wash into the pressings and a fine dust pigment at the bottom. Make the wear on the edges sparingly - under the paint is brass, which wears through on its own.
The set is supplied unassembled. Glue, paints and the basic kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
