Voyager Model 1:35 M103A1 — photo-etched fenders are an add-on set for a plastic kit you already own, not a standalone model. They replace the plastic fenders of the American heavy tank with thin metal sheet on the Dragon 3548 kit.

This item is an aftermarket set of photo-etched metal from Voyager Model, not a kit of the vehicle. It is meant for the Dragon 3548 plastic kit and replaces its fenders with metal parts that have a scale thickness and a crisp edge. On a model of a large tank the length of a fender is considerable, so even a slight difference in sheet thickness is clearly apparent when seen from the side.
The M103 was an American heavy tank from the 1950s armed with a 120 mm gun in a large turret with room for two loaders. It came about as an answer to the enemy's heavy tanks and served above all with the Marine Corps. The M103A1 version brought changes to the turret equipment and the fire control. The vehicle was heavy and large, with a long hull and massive running gear, which the fenders border along the whole length.
With long metal parts the order of work is the key. Fit the fenders before the small clamps and tools go onto the hull, so that they do not get in the way while you handle it. Sand the surface flat where the plastic has been cut away, otherwise a long metal part will ripple. A dry test will tell you where material has to come off; only then glue with cyanoacrylate, at first only at a few spots working from the middle outwards. Degrease the metal before painting and lay on a thin primer, because smooth brass is an ungrateful substrate for paint and a finish tends to chip off crisp edges.
The set holds photo-etched metal parts only. The plastic kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
