Figures of an American tank crew in 1:35 scale, issued under the designation Doo Darn Hot. Intended for models of armored equipment and for dioramas.
Responsibility details are not available.
Tank crews form an entirely different group on models from infantry. They wear different clothing, different headgear and above all they stay with the machine: they sit on the hull, lean out of a hatch, rest against the road wheels or work on the engine. This set captures an American crew in precisely such a moment away from combat, and the supplier has issued it under the designation Doo Darn Hot.
The figures are in 1:35 scale, that is in the same one in which the overwhelming majority of kits of armored equipment comes out. The figures are conceived as the crew of one machine, so they form a natural group together and you do not have to put them together from several different sets. On a model they come into their own mainly around open hatches and on the top surface of the hull, where there tends to be the most empty space once a build is finished.
Before painting, wash the figures in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry out perfectly. Cut surplus material and traces of manufacture off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down lightly. Attach the small parts with cyanoacrylate super glue drop by drop. Try the figures on the model dry first, because sitting on the hull and resting against a hatch have to match the particular kit. Paint in thin coats, so that the modeling of the folds stays legible, and finish the faces off with a dark wash into the shadows.
The set is for modelers who build American armored equipment in 1:35 scale and want to man a model with a crew, and for builders of dioramas as well. Neither paints nor glue are included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
