The Vickers Carden-Loyd A4E12 was a British light amphibious tank of the first half of the 1930s. It came about as a private development by the arms works and was aimed above all at export, so it can be met in the colors of several foreign armies. The hull was designed as a buoyant body so that the vehicle could carry itself on water, and on the surface a propeller at the stern drove it. The crew consisted of two men and the armament was a machine gun, so it was a reconnaissance rather than a fighting machine. The small hull with high sides gives the model a shape that cannot be mistaken for anything else.
It is a kit in 1:35 scale, that is a collection of parts to be assembled and painted. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The make-up of the parts and the range of marking options is given in the instructions included in the box.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder, so that the surrounding surface stays untouched. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts. Before painting, wash and degrease the model, otherwise the paint will not hold on greasy spots. The small running-gear parts are easier to paint before assembly, because later a brush can only reach them with difficulty. If you are planning the model for a base with a water surface, think through the position of the waterline before you start painting.
Paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
