Ventilator covers, that is the lids of ventilation openings, with imitation screw heads around the edge, in 1:35 scale. The name designates them as the second set in the range, so they differ from the first in their rendering; which subject they belong to exactly is given in the manufacturer's instructions, so check what they are for in the instructions or by comparison with documentation for the model. The parts replace the molding from a kit where the definition is soft or where the screw heads are only suggested.
Ventilation covers lie on horizontal surfaces, that is exactly where the eye falls first when looking at a finished model. Crisply rendered screw heads also hold a shadow and, when brought out with a dark color at the end, create a clean ring around themselves, which visually breaks the surface up. In the large 1:35 scale the difference against a soft molding is clearly apparent even without a magnifier.
The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary cement for plastic has no effect on them; use cyanoacrylate glue in a small amount. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder back, so as not to damage the definition of the screws. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts and apply a base color, otherwise the shade rubs off during handling. Remove the original cover from the kit so that a flat mating surface remains, and offer the new part up dry first.
