A wooden floor design in 1:35 scale for building dioramas. It creates a plank interior floor under figures and vehicles.
Responsibility details are not available.
A wooden floor is among the most common interiors a modeler needs in a scene: a barn, a workshop, a station building, a store or a living room. It is laborious to do by hand, because the planks have to be the same width but with a different grain, and the gaps between them have to stay regular. A ready-made plank floor design takes that work away.
A wooden floor design in 1:35 scale, that is, in the size matching ordinary figures and military vehicles. The size of the area, the number of pieces and the recommended way of fixing it are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Work out the area you need from them and add a margin for cuts and joins.
The base has to be flat, otherwise the planks will not line up. Run the planks along the longer side of the room and put the joins where the furnishings of the scene will stand. Make the cuts with a sharp blade against a ruler, along the direction of the wood grain; a cut across it easily frays the edge. Choose the finish and the glue according to the material of the part and the manufacturer's instructions, and try them on an offcut first. A wooden floor only looks convincing once the individual planks differ in shade, the surface by the threshold and along the paths of use is lighter from the worn layer, and a darker deposit stays in the corners.
For builders of dioramas and display cases who need a plank floor for an interior in 1:35 scale. Figures, vehicles, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
