The Voyager Model 1:35 photo-etched set with fenders and track covers for the American M4A3 tank with HVSS suspension is an accessory for the Dragon 6354 and 6183 plastic kits you already own, not a model. The brass sheet will replace oversized plastic fenders with thin metal, which can also be convincingly bent and damaged.

A narrowly focused photo-etched set from the Chinese manufacturer Voyager Model. It deals with one particular assembly of the vehicle, the fenders and the covers over the tracks, and is cut for the Dragon 6354 and 6183 plastic kits. It does not hold the model of the tank; what you get is photo-etched brass parts, which are fitted during the build in place of the plastic originals.
The HVSS suspension with horizontal volute springs brought the Sherman a track roughly twenty-two inches wide and, with it, wider fenders, which had to cover the new outline of the track. That is exactly why the fenders are a conspicuous recognition feature on late M4A3s: long, thin and, in service, notoriously bent, torn off or missing altogether. Crews routinely removed them so that mud could be cleared more easily from the space above the track. A model with perfectly straight plastic fenders therefore comes across as sterile and out of period.
A long photo-etched sheet twists easily, and then flatness is hard to recover. Nip the part out only when you are about to glue it, and always put it down flat rather than on edge. Before gluing, draw it between your fingers over a smooth rod, or lay it on glass and roll it lightly; that straightens it. Glue in sections: fix one end first, confirm that the part follows the side of the hull along its whole length and only then run the cyanoacrylate along the rest. At the same time thin metal opens up a possibility plastic does not have: you can deliberately bend, tear or partly remove a fender and so put a vehicle that has seen some mileage on the model.
This is an add-on set, not a model. The basic plastic kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
