A masking sheet for spraying the decks of a model of the French battleship Dunkerque in 1:350 scale, for the Hobby Boss 86506 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Dunkerque was a French battleship completed in the second half of the 1930s. She carried eight 330 mm guns in two quadruple turrets, both placed ahead of the superstructure, so the stern stayed free for a hangar and a catapult. In July 1940 a British attack at Mers-el-Kebir damaged her heavily and in November 1942 she ended up at Toulon, scuttled by her own crew.
This is a masking sheet for a model in 1:350 scale, cut for the Hobby Boss 86506 kit. The shapes of the deck areas are cut out in advance, so you do not have to struggle with tracing outlines along the superstructure and cutting tape. It is precisely the transition between the deck and the surrounding areas that decides on a ship model how clean the whole looks.
Follow the instructions from the manufacturer and the order of spraying you have chosen. Peel the parts off the backing, seat them on the deck and press the edges down carefully so that paint does not flow under them. The surface should be clean, degreased and dry. Apply the paint in several light coats; take the mask off shortly after it has dried, not several days later, when it separates less easily.
The sheet will be appreciated by a ship modeler who wants the boundaries of the deck areas crisp and wants to spare themselves lengthy masking with tape. The delivery holds the masking sheet itself; the kit, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
