This injection-molded plastic kit from Riich Models captures the American DSRV-1 Mystic deep submergence rescue vehicle in 1:350 scale. It is not a combat submarine but a small rescue craft intended to lift crews out of sunken submarines. The package usually holds two models and a fret of photo-etched parts for fine detail.
The DSRV-1 Mystic was an American Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle built by Lockheed. It was designed so that it could be flown quickly anywhere in the world and launched from a mother ship or submarine. It served to evacuate crews from submarines stranded on the bottom. It is a small craft with a characteristic rounded hull.
Given the small size of the real craft and the fine parts, work carefully and glue with a light touch. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Spray the model with an airbrush, bring out the details and even the whole thing out with a clear coat. Thanks to the two models in the package, a pair can be built, or one model used as an accessory for a larger scene.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
