A wooden (veneer) deck from the Artwox brand in 1:350 scale, intended for a model of the American aircraft carrier USS Hancock (CV-19). It is not a ship model but a self-adhesive overlay of fine wood veneer with laser-cut planks, which replaces the plastic flight deck and gives it a realistic wood texture. The veneer is cut to fit the Trumpeter 05610 kit.
USS Hancock (CV-19) was an American Essex-class aircraft carrier of the Second World War period. She served in the Pacific and after the war she went through a modernization, following which she took part in the Korean and the Vietnam conflicts. The extensive wooden flight deck is typical of ships of this class.
Clean and degrease the plastic deck, lay the veneer on carefully and line up the elevators, the island and the markings. The wood can be fine-tuned with a thin glaze; the flight deck is usually completed with painted identification markings and a matte varnish.
The accessory is supplied as a deck overlay. The ship model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
